25 Years Experience in Public Education

My journey in public education has been a twenty-five-year climb, one that began with a simple desire to make a difference and evolved into a life’s work dedicated to school leadership. I started in the trenches as a substitute teacher, an experience that taught me the vital importance of adaptability and the power of showing up for students, even for a single day. That spark led me into the classroom as a full-time educator and onto the sidelines as a coach, where I discovered that my true passion lay in mentorship—helping young people find their voice and seeing a team pull together toward a common goal.

As I transitioned from the classroom into building administration, my perspective shifted from the individual desk to the entire school culture. I realized that to truly support students, I had to be a champion for the educators and staff who serve them every day. Having walked nearly every path within a school building, I lead with a 360-degree understanding of the challenges my colleagues face and the potential that every hallway holds. This perspective continued to grow as I was able to serve as a mentor to other building administrators. These two and a half decades have been more than a career; they have been a continuous lesson in resilience, empathy, and the transformative impact of grounded, visionary leadership.
